Halfway between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gironde, Château Escot takes full advantage of the special terroir of the Médoc, the flagship of the Bordeaux vineyard. Planted in clay, sand and gravel, cooled by ocean winds or, on the contrary, protected and warmed by moors, its vines draw from the earth and the sky ideal conditions for their development. The wines are affected, all in nuances, rich in the most beautiful aromas of Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet-Sauvignon. This organoleptic palette is all the more beautiful because the Rouy family, owners of the premises, work it with finesse, harvesting at night, vinifying cold to keep all the aromas of its berries intact. This is how structured wines are produced here, seductive in their youth, increasingly elegant with age.

Environmental approach

Château Escot is committed to sustainable viticulture which tends to reduce the use of phytosanitary products for the treatment of the vine.

History and architecture

The name ESCOT finds its origin in the Middle Ages. The estate, in those days, housed one of the notables of the region: the tax collector. “Escots” as we said then.
This function no longer exists for a long time but Château ESCOT is still proud of it today. It is one of the oldest wine estates in the Médoc.
