It is the passion for this long-beaked bird that is at the origin of the name of Chais de la Bécasse.
From 1965 to 2011, it was under the name of Château La Bécasse that this cellar appeared in the list of wine properties in Pauillac.
In 2011, the death of my father Georges Fonteneau forced me to sell the vineyard to settle the estate.
The visit includes the vat room, the barrel cellar and the technical bottling rooms with all the explanations on the vinification and aging of the wine.
Since 2014, having managed to keep my cellars in Pauillac, I market a new cuvée:
"La Bécasse du Médoc" AOP Listrac-Médoc.
