The origins of this beautiful property, close to the Abbaye de Vertheuil, date back to the 17th century. It appears on the maps of Belleyme and Cassini under the name “Le Bâtiment”, in reference to the impressive cellar which still dominates the vineyard today. The estate was renamed Reysson by the wealthy financier Auguste Dreyfus, who bought it in 1891. Located at the top of a magnificent plateau, our vines rest on very original soil in the Médoc, composed of clay and limestone with asterias (shells fossilized), and particularly suited to growing Merlot, which develops all its finesse.
Owned by Maison Dourthe, Château Reysson has been Cru Bourgeois since 1932, and Cru Bourgeois Supérieur from the 2018 vintage.
