The Vertheuil site has been inhabited since prehistoric times. In the XNUMXth century, William VIII, Duke of Aquitaine, founded an abbey which housed a community of canons of the order of Saint Augustine. It was devastated during the Hundred Years War and the Wars of Religion, and rebuilt in the XNUMXth century. This route makes you discover Vertheuil and its surroundings, by traversing the vineyards of North Médoc, the wooded hills and the Reysson marsh.
