Created in 1616 by François de Chadirac, notable of the region around 1616, it is the oldest wine estate in the commune of Vertheuil.
Since 1959 and the acquisition of the estate by Denise and Paul Riffaud, the contemporary history of Souley Sainte Croix has been intertwined with that of the Riffaud family, which today operates 27 hectares of vines.
