Château Sociando-Mallet is located in the town of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, about ten kilometers north of Pauillac, in the Haut-Médoc appellation, and offers a magnificent panorama over the Gironde estuary.
Vestiges of the historical heritage and of the typical Medoc landscape, the winegrowers' cabins dot the vineyard. Renovated, they wait for walkers to admire them while strolling through the vineyards.
A marked pedestrian circuit of about 4 km winds through the vines to meet these huts and our fishing net. A pleasant way to stroll between vineyards and the river and enjoy the superb landscape.

History and architecture
A document dating from March 1633 refers to noble lands in this municipality, which belonged to an aristocrat of Basque origin named Sociando.
In 1793, archival documents report the arrest of Guillaume de Brochon, a royalist notary who lived in Sociando and whose estates were placed under sequestration and sold as National Property. It was then that Sociando was bought by Jean Lamothe, Brochon's father-in-law.
In 1831, Marie-Elisabeth Alaret, owner of Sociando and niece of Lamothe, married Achille Mallet, sea captain.
