On the heights of Saint Estèphe, stand the majestic pagodas of Cos d'Estournel, a heritage of Louis-Gaspard d'Estournel, the “Maharajah of Saint Estèphe”. Daring, he himself went to the end of the world to praise the merits of his wine and win new customers.
The estate, founded in 1811 on the grave hill of Cos, has been shaped year after year by this visionary, still making it possible to cultivate a terroir of remarkable complexity and richness.

Since 2000, Cos d'Estournel, Second Cru Classé in 1855, has been owned by Michel Reybier.
Anxious to pursue the avant-garde vision of the founder and to take a decisive technical advance, he built in 2008 the first exclusively gravity cellar. This tool contributes to the search for excellence in the domain and allows us to work with the purest respect for the grape.
