CERTIFIED ORGANIC family property for over 40 years. After Joseph, Luc Touchais, Lionel, their son, a trained oenologist, has taken the reins of the property since 2005. On a 10-hectare vineyard dominated by a pretty 18th century Chartreuse, listed as a Historic Monument, the Touchais family produces exclusively red wine in the Haut-Médoc appellation. The harvest is 100% carried out manually. Vinification aims to preserve the fruit and the elegance of the tannins. The wines are aged in French oak barrels, part of which is renewed each year. Since 2022, our property has been CERTIFIED ORGANIC by ECOCERT. 100% of our wines from the 2022 vintage are certified ORGANIC.

Children's activity (ies)
To best accommodate the youngest, the estate offers a treasure hunt activity in the castle park.
For the little ones, a coloring of the castle is proposed.
Discovery of the vines
As part of the visit, you will discover a plot of vines located between the castle and the cellar.
Passing through this plot is an opportunity to present the cycle of the vine and to explain the various works carried out in the vineyard according to the seasons. You will also take the opportunity to discover the changes made since their conversion to organic farming.
Environmental approach
Since April 2020, Château Balac has been committed to preserving and respecting the environment through its High Environmental Value certification.
The estate will also be certified Organic Agriculture in 2022.
History and architecture
The estate's Chartreuse was built in the XNUMXth century by Victor Louis, the architect of the buildings of France and is classified as a Historic Monument.
