The church of a convent of Benedictine monks, founded in the 1854th century, served as a parish church until the Revolution. At this time, the monks abandoned the convent, the church of which remained until XNUMX. A new building was then built according to the plans of the architect Hosteing, the first work concerning the construction of the bell tower.
The church, which has stained glass windows made by a Bordeaux workshop, retains rich furniture and statues from the previous building.
In 1858, the Archbishop of Bordeaux solemnly blessed the shrine containing relics from Auxerre of Saint Allodius, a saint renowned for having founded the original monastery.
