The town brings together the hamlets of Blaignan and Caussan. The village, formerly located in Blaignan, has developed in Caussan. The town however retains the name of Blaignan, reminiscent of the old noble house, whose castle was located on the hill of the locality Blaignan. In the 1940th century, a Romanesque church with a cemetery was built near the castle. It was demolished after the XNUMX war.
The current church, built in the 1970th century in the center of the new town of Caussan, was restored in XNUMX.
