It was in 1991, for the first time in the world that a vineyard collectively opened its doors to the public. The success was immediate and from its 3rd edition, the “Open House Weekend”, welcomed tens of thousands of visitors. This initiative was quickly copied by almost all vineyards in France. The Medoc Châteaux Open House weekend, the result of more than 3 decades of organization, offers visitors the face of a wine-growing Médoc which has evolved by opening up to tourism.
Today the most difficult is not to enter a castle but to know which one to choose! If the visit of the cellars and the tasting remain the heart of the event, an offer of "pleasures" has developed over the years: catering at the castle, games, music, artistic exhibitions ... for adults, young and old. but also toddlers.
Every year, the open doors take place at the beginning of April.
